Peacemaking after Deadly Conflict:
Healing and Reconciliation in Rwanda, Burundi and Kenya
Tuesday, May 28 | 7 pm at First Parish (435 Congress)
Are revenge, hatred and more violence the only possibilities after conflict? Can healing and reconciliation between enemies occur? David Zarembka, coordinator of the African Great Lakes Initiative of the Friends Peace Teams, will speak on grassroots efforts to promote peace and reconciliation in the Great Lakes region of Africa.

Monthly Community Drumming Circle
first Monday of each month | 7:00-8:30 pm
Explore the spiritual and creative possibilities of drumming in community. Come to this new monthly group, facilitated by Portland musician/percussionist Todd Glacy, on the first Monday of every month. If you have your own drum, please bring it!
Weekly “Big Book” discussion meeting
Wednesdays | 8:30-9:30 am
Learn about the 12 steps of addiction recovery from the original source – the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous. Those in recovery are encouraged to attend, but no experience with addiction, the steps, or recovery is required – just come with open hearts. Co-led by Liz Leuthner and Allen Ewing-Merrill.
Share the Warmth
Keep filling the clothesline with winter hats, gloves, and mittens (new or gently used) – all sizes – to help keep our neighbors warm during the cold winter months.
Women’s Listening Circle: Wednesdays at 10 am at Hope.Gate.Way.
