"Rooted in Goodness: Interconnectedness and Liberation in the Gospel of Mary"
In this third installment of a series on the Gospel of Mary, Rev. Sarah Ewing-Merrill, HopeGateWay’s Lead Pastor, draws on the text's teaching that all living beings exist in and with one another — weaving together Lakota, Ubuntu, and Sanskrit wisdom traditions alongside the first law of thermodynamics to ground this truth — and connects it to current events affecting voting rights. She then explores the Gospel's radical claim that sin does not inherently exist, arguing that centuries of sin-centered Christianity have distorted Jesus's actual message of inherent human goodness, and calls her congregation toward a liberating, disobedient faith rooted in that goodness.
